Spidec (pHytoseiulus persimilis) is a predatory mite for the biological control of red spider mites. It is the most used predator against this pest and an adult is capable of sucking 5 spiders a day or 20 eggs or larvae (it preys on all stages of red spider).
Due to its great predation and reproduction capacity, it eliminates the pest completely, being the most effective predator against red spiders. For its application, there must be pest and the relative humidity must not be too low. Preventively introduce 10 per cutting and if there are pest outbreaks, introduce over the outbreak and surrounding areas at a dose of approximately 50 per plant.
Use Spidex as a curative method when the first symptoms of the pest are observed or as soon as the first red spider mites appear (found on the underside of the leaves). In case of serious infestation, a shock treatment with a miticide is recommended a few days before the predator is released to reduce the pest level to a minimum. Intensify release in areas of greatest pest intensity (hotspots).
APPLICATION
The recommended dose is about 100 individuals per square meter, repeating the application weekly up to a minimum of 3 applications (3 weeks in a row).
Joint use with Spical is recommended.
IMPORTANT
It is used as a curative. It only eats red spiders and eats all stages, especially the most advanced and adults. It is released where red spider populations are seen.
